President Akufo-Addo has acknowledged the overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Dr. Mensa Otabil as a “special friend” who advises him on national issues.
According to the President, the ICGC founder is among the elders of the nation who “pray, protect and advice him”.
Mr. Akufo-Addo made the pronouncement Sunday when he spoke at the Jesus Temple branch of the ICGC in Koforidua where the ruling New Patriotic Party went for their thanksgiving service after their national delegates’ conference in Koforidua.
“We are here to give thanks to God. I am here also because your overseer Dr. Otabil is my special friend. He is one of the elders who protect, pray and advise me, he is one of them,” the President said.
He also reminded his appointees to see themselves as servants who are in office to serve Ghanaians and not themselves.
