MINING INDUSTRY SUPPORT: Minority tags President ‘neglect’ comment inciteful

The Minority in Parliament is accusing President Akufo-Addo of inciting residents of mining communities against mining companies.

According to the group the president’s claim that mining firms have neglected the communities they operate amounts to hate speech.

Speaking to GHOne News minority Spokesperson on Energy Adams Mutawakilu argued the president should rather ensure royalties and taxes paid the state are used to develop mining communities.

Mutawakilu also demanded a new gas supply agreement entered into by the Ghana National Petroleum Commission with another Russian company Rosneft be brought to parliament for approval.

The Damango Mp is also demanding the status GNPC Gazprom gas supply agreement in the wake of the latest agreement for same purpose.
