Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Borax has disclosed how things turned difficult for him after he ended his working relationship with Daddy Lumba.
Borax, known in real life as Nathaniel Adjetey Larbi, recorded two successful albums with the high-life legend before he ended his working relationship with him.
In an interview on #RythmzLive One on One with Jason Ela on GH One TV Wednesday, Borax said situations became difficult overnight.
“People who were supporting me initially left because I left Daddy Lumba. I had to start all over again. I had to rebrand myself.”
Borax explained that prior to his departure from Lumba’s camp, he enjoyed a great relationship with him and so was difficult leaving.
“I worked with Daddy Lumba for four years. We had a four-year album contract. It was a master-apprentice kind of working relationship.
“It was difficult letting the apprentice go because the master loved the apprentice. He saw me as a son.
“I had to seek advice from different people before leaving Daddy Lumba to start something on my own”, he revealed.
He added that though they are not enemies, their relationship now is not like before. He however praised his former master for his great artistry.
“There will never be another Lumba. He is a prolific musician. He is a gem and a genius,” Borax declared on #RythmzLive.
