Gov’t denies removing 4,000 teachers from payroll

A deputy Minister for Education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa took to social media networking site, Facebook to dismiss reports claiming that over 4,000 teachers risked being expunged from the payroll following an International Monetary Fund(IMF) agreement with the state.

The worried minister in a post Sunday, August 21, 2016 asked the public to disregard such publication being circulated in sections of the media.

The statement indicated that the false publications are rather targeted at discrediting the efforts of government in the educational sector and create disaffection for government in an election year.
