The Convention People’s Party’s nominee for vice-president Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah has admitted he is a card bearing member of the New Patriotic Party.
Mr Nsiah Nketia told GHOne News he will keep his status with the NPP for “strategic reasons”.
Announcing his nomination, a press release issued by the Director of Communication of the CPP, Issifu Kadiri Abdul Rauf on Thursday September 29 said the CPP chose the businessman “squarely on the account of his versatility, understanding of the party’s philosophies, and his great exposure and maturity.”
Nana Gabby Nketiah, a retired diplomat, an honorary chief of Duayaw Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo Region, and a businessman.
He was born on 1 October 1943 at Fiapre near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region. He served as Ambassador to Korea under President John Kufuor in 2008.
The party said they believe “he will effectively complement the flag bearer given his deep understanding of the predicaments of the country”.
Mr. Nsiah Nketia made his first public appearance with the CPP flagbearer, Ivor Greentstreet to file the party’s nomination forms at the Electoral commission on Friday September 30.
He is regarded as an individual with a strong Nkrumahist background.
He is married to Monica Nee Kusi and is blessed with five children.
