Angry Muslim youth clash with indigenes over Tafo cemetery

Several properties have been destroyed after a dispute over lands at the Tafo cemetery in Kumasi erupted Wednesday.

Angry Muslim youth in the Tafo community are reported to be reacting to the pulling down of a fence wall on a demarcated portion of the cemetery belonging to them.

Unconfirmed reports claim one person has been shot dead by a Police officer with about 100 vehicles vandalized.

Over the past week, there has been seeming tension between the Muslim community and the indigenes headed by the Chief of Tafo, Nana Agyin Frimpong II, over allegations of encroachment in the project being undertaken by the Muslims.

The Tafo Cemetery in Kumasi has for many years now  has been demarcated for Muslims and non-Muslims.
