Wa All Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori is back in South Africa hoping to land a contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, the club has confirmed.
The Black Stars shot-stopper has been in a search for a club away from Ghanaian champions Wa All Stars since returning from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations where he featured in the third place playoff against Burkina Faso.
Ofori spent some weeks in South Africa after the Nations Cup with an unnamed club before returning home to feature in two Ghana Premier League games for his side.
Last weekend, the 23-year-old returned to Pretoria to join the reigning African champions, his club has confirmed.
In a brief chat with supersport.com on Tuesday, the General Manager of Wa All Stars stated that Ofori is indeed “in South Africa with [Mamelodi] Sundowns” but added “we will confirm that later” when asked if the is on trials or with the Masawanda to sign a straight deal.
Richard Ofori will miss Wa All Stars’ outing in the four-club WAFU Challenge Cup scheduled for Dakar from March 31-April 2.
