Midfielder Owusu Jackson made his competitive comeback from a long injury as Asante Kotoko won 1-0 away to AshantiGold in a Ghana Premier League game on Monday.
The 26-year-old copped 22 minutes of action in the match-day four fixture of the 2016/17 season after coming on as a replacement for Baba Mahama in the 73rd minute and five more from the referee’s additional time.
Jackson sat out the whole of last season because of a complete fracture of the tibia in his left leg he suffered during a kickabout with friends on February 14, 2016.
He returned to full scale training during preseason and was handed a return to Premier League action by coach Zdravko Logarusic in Monday’s Ashanti derby victory over the Miners in Obuasi.
Yakubu Mohammed scored the only goal of the encounter against his former side in the 64th minute.
