AFCON 2017: Black Stars to face Bunyodkor in test game

The Black Stars have secured an agreement to play a friendly game against Uzbekistan giants, Bunyodkor, the Ghana FA has announced.

Coach Avram Grant’s men will travel from their pre-Afcon 2017 camping base in Al Ain to Dubai to play the friendly against the Asian side on Tuesday, January 10.

The match is scheduled for Dubai’s Sevens Stadium with kickoff at 5pm local time (1300GMT).

According to the Black Stars’ Team Media Officer, “Ghana are likely to play another friendly before the team departs to Gabon for the tournament.”

Ghana’s final 23-man squad and entire contingent to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon are scheduled to leave the United Arab Emirates for Port Gentil on Friday, January 13.

The Black Stars are placed in Group D at the 31st edition of Africa’s flagship competition alongside Uganda, Egypt and Mali. The four-time African champions open their campaign against the Cranes January 17.
