Welsh based English Premier League side Swansea City maintain there has been no official bid for Ghana international Andre Ayew, local newspaper South Wales Evening News has reported.
This comes in the wake of widespread reports Sunday that fellow Premier League side West Ham United have upped their initial bid of £16 million to £20 million for the forward.
Andre Ayew enjoyed a fine debut season at the Liberty Stadium where he scored 12 goals after arriving on a free transfer from Olympique Marseille in the French League.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a string of clubs throughout the summer with the East London club who lost out on his services last summer reported to be back leading the chase for his signature.
According to the report, West Ham, who have moved to the Olympic Stadium, ‘remain favourites for his signature if Swansea do decide to sell.’
‘But that is by no means a forgone conclusion. Certainly, Swansea would be reluctant to sell Ayew until they have bolstered their own forward line. They have already sold Alberto Paloschi and Eder since the end of last season, while Bafetimbi Gomis has joined Marseille on loan,’ the South Wales Evening News said.
Swansea have been linked with moves for the likes of Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa, Stoke star Peter Crouch and Sevilla’s Fernando Llorente.
