Trader stabbed to death over GHȼ45

A man believed to be in his twenties has been stabbed to death at Adum in the central business district of the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

The incident happened Thursday morning.

Witnesses say the victim, Kwaku Gyasi, a phone accessories trader was in a row with a man over a GHȼ45 debt minutes before he lost his life.

The man, identified as Eric, is said to have gone to demand GHȼ45 owed him by the deceased but the issue suddenly generated into a quarrel.

Eric allegedly pulled a knife from his face towel and stabbed Gyasi in the chest three times.

The victim bled profusely and could not survive the stab wounds. Gyasi was later pronounced dead after he was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The suspect attempted bolting away but was apprehended by onlookers. He has been handed over and placed in custody at the Kumasi Central Police station.
